Suppress alerts during downtime

I'm using the scheduled_host_downtime and the scheduled_service_downtime 
via cron to automatically  place hosts/services in downtime during our 
maintenance window. Is it possible to suppress alerts as well as 
notifications? We have a monitoring group that watches Nagios and in 
conjunction with the ntray.exe application we have no need for 
notifications via Nagios. I would like to use the downtime to suppress 
alerts during the time the host/service is in a downtime state. Maybe a 2.0 
feature if not available in 1.1?
