Hi,

I think...

When a Service goes down the member of the contactgroups out of the
service definition will receive a notification,
if a host goes down the member of the contactgroups out of the hostgroup
definition.

Thema
[Nagios-users] contact groups in service definitions

what's the functional difference between listing contact groups on the
'contact_groups' line of the service definition and listing them on the
'contact_groups' line of the hostgroup definition?

Do the contact groups listed on the hostgroup definition also get
notifications when a service on that host goes down?

Elliot
