Temperature monitoring

I have a easy free solution, of course I bought a quite modern machine, and I think all, included small servers like dell, HP, IBM have a internal temperature sensors, I have a HP DL760,DL360 (Compaq 2 years ago) both have a temperature internal sensor. All this sensor have SNMP sequence in the MIB of each machine

Using snmpwalk I get the server internal temperature. with this I made a script for nagios.

We use a program called digitemp using a little chip from dallas
semiconductor the ds1820, took a bit of initial work to get up and running,
but it cost's about $15 for each little package we make now, plugs into a
serial port.

we buy our chips from maplins or rs here in the uk and wrap them up in a
little 9pin serial port holder, in the usa you can buy them premade here:
