Postgres Problems

Hello,

I am working on installing nagios with postgres support, and I am having
some trouble. Upon startup, nagios complains that it can't connect to
the DB:

[1083271948] Nagios 1.2 starting... (PID=22832)
[1083271948] Finished daemonizing... (New PID=22833)
[1083271948] Error: Could not connect to PostgreSQL database 'nagios' on
host 'localhost' using username 'nagios' and password 'xxxx'. Status
data will not be saved!
[1083271949] Error: Could not re-connect to database server on host
'localhost' for status data. I'll keep trying every 60 seconds...

The odd thing is I see nagios connect to the DB, but with an error:
LOG: connection received: host=127.0.0.1 port=52790
LOG: connection authorized: user=nagios database=nagios
LOG: statement: SELECT date_part('epoch',last_update) AS last_update,
date_part('epoch',program_start) AS program_start, nagios_pid,
daemon_mode, date_part('epoch',last_command_check) AS
last_command_check, date_part('epoch',last_log_rotation) AS
last_log_rotation, enable_notifications, execute_service_checks,
accept_passive_service_checks, enable_event_handlers,
obsess_over_services, enable_flap_detection, enable_failure_prediction,
process_performance_data FROM programstatus
LOG: unexpected EOF on client connection

Anyone seen this before or have an idea where I can poke around to look
for a problem?

Thanks,
Jerome
