check_snmp warning

Receiving SNMP traps and using check_snmp are two different things.
Documentation on how to set up Nagios to receive traps can be found
here: http://nagios.sourceforge.net/docs/1_0/int-snmptrap.html.

The check_snmp plugin is part of the standard plugins but will only be
compiled if you have net-snmp (formerly ucd-snmp) installed. You will
need to install that and recompile the plugins. The example configs may
or may not have any check_snmp examples (as they can be highly variable)
but you can always use check_snmp --help to determine the exact format
you need for whatever you are wanting to check.

Subject: [Nagios-users] check_snmp warning

Good day....i'm new to Nagios and need a bit of help....I'm trying to
set up snmp traps on Nagios to check our servers....I went to my
"checkcommands.cfg" file and saw there was no "check_snmp" listed...
does this mean I have to download the plugin check_snmp warning......if
so how do we install it ...and into which directory.....thanks...
