Perl based NRPE

Does any one have a Perl based NRPE?  The reason why I ask is I have to
monitor some HP-UX 9, yes 9 and it is long story that involves
politics.  I can set up an email relay to send messages but I would
rather have NRPE running.  Any suggestions?
