command checks

I am implementing failover/redundant monitoring.  The
docs say to use the STOP_EXECUTING_SVC_CHECKS command,
however, I get this when trying to use that:
[1068063825] Warning: Unrecognized external command ->
STOP_EXECUTING_SERVICE_CHECKS;
[1068063825] EXTERNAL COMMAND:
DISABLE_NOTIFICATIONS;1068063778

As you can see, the other command worked so I have
external commands enabled.

Any ideas?
