Check your cgi.cfg file and look for this section.  If you have it as
shown below you will need to access using the URL
http://www.myhost.com/nagios/.

# This is the path portion of the URL that corresponds to the
# physical location of the Nagios HTML files (as defined above).
# This value is used by the CGIs to locate the online documentation
# and graphics.  If you access the Nagios pages with an URL like

Hi i am totally new to nagios. Pretty much have started from scratch.

Here is the problem:

-In setting up the web interface, the documentation has stated to write
ScriptAlias and Alias (one after another) in the httpd configuration
file. I did this. The browser does not see the /nagios section. I get a
404 error Object not Found. Can anyone help me. Cheers,
