Any way to monitor processes via rsh?

Sure... That would actually be a straightforward plugin that you could
write yourself. Check out
http://nagiosplug.sourceforge.net/developer-guidelines.html. The plugin
output and return codes sections will probably be of most interest. I
believe there is also documentation with the plugin distribution itself
on how to use utils.pm or utils.sh to make things even easier.
