Perf data and reloading config

Hi all,

When I reload Nagios (killall -HUP nagios) after I modify the conf
files, it doesn't take into account the "process_perf_data". For example
if it doesn't process perf data for a given service and I decide that it
should now, I have to stop Nagios, remove the status.sav file and then
restart Nagios. I tried to play with the "State Retention Option" and
the "Use Retained Program State Option" but it doesn't work. 

Does any one have heard of this problem ? is there a solution ?
