After configure you need to run make to recompile the plugins and the copy 
the new check_http over to your plugins directory

run ./check_http -h  and check whether the help shows the availability of 
the -S option.  If not something went wrong in the configure/compile 
process.  Otherwise you now have a functional check_http tht also monitors 
ssl sites.
