host/hostgroup contact

I have another quick question that's come up while reading the docs.

When you define a host group you can set a contact for that group. You can
also set an individual contact in a given host declaration. According to the
docs, the contact_groups declaration is required.

It seems kind of silly, though, to make both elements required. If I've set
an overall contact group for a hostgroup it seems redundant to have to
define them in the host entry as well (or worse, go through and change "x"
number of files if I ever need to change the contact group).

Are the docs right? Do you really need to define both? And if so, perhaps a
future revision should allow you to skip out on a contact_group entry in a
hosts declaration if one exists for it's hostgroup.

Thanks
