Host Assumed to Be Up

The way that Nagios works is that it check services first. If the service
associated with a host is checking "OK" then Nagios "assumes" that the host
is OK therefore there is no need to check the host itself.

Subject: [Nagios-users] Host Assumed to Be Up

Newbie here.

I just installed Nagios yesterday and am doing nothing but ping monitoring
on 5 routers. All the host status information fields say "Host assumed to
be up". What does that mean? I can't find it in the FAQ. Can anyone point
me in the right direction?

Thanks for any help.
