Host Assumed to Be Up

Newbie here.
 
I just installed Nagios yesterday and am doing nothing but ping monitoring on 5 routers.  All the host status information fields say "Host assumed to be up".  What does that mean?  I can't find it in the FAQ.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?
