I've installed nagios [mostly] trouble-free. However, I'm having some 
trouble with the image packs. I looked through the archives for this list 
and have been able to get the status map to work with the following 
configuration:

cgi.cfg;
xedtemplate_config_file=/usr/local/nagios/etc/hostextinfo.cfg

....and in hostextinfo.cfg;

define hostextinfo {
       host_name       Computer_name
       icon_image      image.png
       vrml_image      image.png
       gd2_image       image.gd2
       icon_image_alt  Server
       statusmap_image image.png
#      3d_coords       100,50;3.5,0.0,-1.5
       }
Like I said, this works for the 2D images, just not the cool 3D ones....
