Nagios and SSL

I have a question of my own on this topic:

I currently have Nagios running quite well without SSL. I'm going to add SSL 
to the virtual host in Apache - Is there anything I need to be aware of, or 
should this work just as it did without the SSL (I'm thinking it should, but 
I have to ask...)?
