SMTP Critical

I have a qmail server with smtp-auth setup & am trying to monitor the
 service. The service is constantly at critical, even though the status
 information says "SMTP OK - 0 second response time". My config is pretty
 much the same as the sample configs, with not much changed.

Here's my services.cfg entry for that service:

define service{
       use                             generic-service
       host_name                       qm1
       service_description             SMTP
       is_volatile                     0
       check_period                    24x7
       max_check_attempts              3
       normal_check_interval           3
       retry_check_interval            1
       contact_groups                  linux-admins
       notification_interval           120
       notification_period             24x7
       notification_options            w,u,c,r
       check_command                   check_smtp
       }

Here's my status.log snip (may not wrap right):

[1031600344]
SERVICE;qm1;SMTP;CRITICAL;3/3;HARD;1031600284;1031600464;ACTIVE;1;1;1;1031599
399;0;CRITICAL;120;0;0;0;1

Could the SMTP-Auth be causing the problem? Any ideas?

Thanks,

Nate D.
