RESOLVED: statusmap background error II

just in case someone is interested:
the problem was that pngtogd2 created invalid gd2-files. i solved the
problem by circumventing it: the statusmap.cgi _does accept_ png
files as background even if the manual says otherwise (but it's
slow).
