check_ping vs check_fping

I had the same issue, so I switched to check_fping, only to realize that it
is broken!
When a host is down or unreachable it always returns a Warning State. I had
posted about that issue, no one replied.
So, make sure your check_fping works before you switch!.

Subject: [Nagios-users] check_ping vs check_fping

Hello all,

I looked around the archives and could not really find an answer to this,
but forgive me if it is there and I missed it. Is there any advantage to
using fping vs ping, or vice versa? I have been having some problems with
what I think is service or host checks hanging up all of the service and
host checks use check_ping.

Thanks
-Tony
