[Fwd: simple ping not working.]

Yes, all pluggins are installed.

As I said, I can issue a check_ping command (ie run the pluggin
manually) as user nagios.  I've also read the FAQ at the website that
suggests that the nagios user may not have permissions to use the ping
command.  This is not the case.
