Check 3 times then notify...

Hi,

can I tell nagios to check critical services three times before a
notification gets sent out?
So if the first check fails, nagios should check the service (or host) two
more times and only if all three tests fail the service is critical and a
notification gets sent out??

Any help is appreciated ;-)
