How do I define Parent- and Childhosts?

You can only define parents, not childs. In hosts.cfg, you set the parent
for the host

        use                     generic-host            ; Name of host
template to use

        host_name               host1
        alias                   test host
        address                 1.2.3.4
        check_command           check-host-alive
        parents                 router1  <<<********
        max_check_attempts      3
        notification_interval   60
        notification_period     24x7

        }
