Authoritative answer required on check_dig or check_dns?

All -

Is there a way to require an authoritative answer from a nameserver
using either check_dig|check_dns, similar to the AUTH directive in
nocol's nsmon?

(from nocol's nsmon-config:
# Append the word 'AUTH' after the ipaddress if an authorative answer is
# required. By default AA is false. )

I need to check that a primary nameserver for a domain actually answers
authoritatively for it, not just whether it gives a basic answer.

Any pointers are appreciated. I found no similar mention in any of the
mailing lists or documentation.
