FW: error message "hostgroup has no members"

An asterisk (*) is simply used to indicate all hosts, services, 
whatever.  What you're trying to do (pattern matching) is not yet 
supported.  So basically you can't use "HOST*" to specify all hosts 
that have names starting with "HOST".
