check load doesnt update?

I've been running nagios since last week monitoring various boxes. Today
they are idle and I notice the load for one particular linux server is 1.06,
1.07, 1.01. Yet if I log onto that box and do an uptime it comes back
0,0,0.. If I do a check_nrpe -c check_load it also comes back 0,0,0.. Why
does the web page say 1.06,1.07,1.01?  Why doesn't that update?
