Logout from web pages

Thanks Marc

I dug about a bit and came up with a solution most certainly not pretty, but works.
I made a new directory /usr/local/nagios/share/logout and placed a .htaccess file there, a dummy password file and dummy html page, making sure to keep the <authname> the same.
It forces the user to enter a new password. The user has to click cancel to get the '401 Unauthorized' page up.
Now the user must click on the home icon to log back in.

Since Nagios is using .htaccess as its authentication mechanism as
opposed to a cookie based authentication system, the onus is entirely on
the browser you are using to resend the username and password with every
request. All modern browsers that I am aware of do this automagically.
Currently there is no method in the HTTP standard to force a browser to
'forget' its authorization info for the current session and I am not
aware of any way of doing it through the browser other than closing all
open browser windows and launching the browser again.
