Lost downtime bug in 3.4.1 (Bug 338)

This is generating a lot of noise for us, in terms of bogus 
notifications. We can hardly be the only ones.

Could the issue perhaps be escalated a bit? or is it possible to 
downgrade, and if so, what version introduced the bug?
