I had a look at seagull. The only thing useful in it for a Nagios gui 
that I found was the authentication code, so that would be quite a lot 
of bloat to remove.

Since it uses classes extensively it may well not work on PHP < 5.0, 
which would be sad. I found no requirements document on the site, 
although I didn't look very far after having downloaded and looked at 
the code.

What list? Aren't you already on nagios-devel?
