If you don't tell someone that v2 is beta nobody will see. I am testing since three weeks with the same count of hosts and services like our normal system do. Fixing it requires replacing them, which is why I created the nagios-db project on sourceforge. I've got about 8500 services on about 2500 hosts, and my status pages comes up in under 3 seconds.
