When I su to nagios I get an error but the sms still sends.... The error is fopen : Pemission denied, sending logs to stderr. thats all. Had the initial problem of the nagios user not having access to the comm ports, but fixed that at least in the test. I have not got a clue about the fopen thing and I don't have an fopen command on the box. Did you run your test as root or the nagios user?
