I have it up and running on RH 9, initially with gd 1.8.4-11 but I built gd 2.0.15 from source and installed and then recompiled using gd 2.0.15 beacuse some of my gd2 icons were not showing up. Did you specify gd lib and include paths in your configure? GD, PNG, and/or JPEG libraries could not be located! I am using GD 2.0.15 currently, but tried with 1.8.* versions aswell. Ive tried different versions of libjpg, libpng, zlib, and all the devels, and still no joy. One thing i note is that libgd-devel-1.3.4 convlicts with gd-devel-2.0.15. Makes sense, but does that mean you dont need libgd-devel? Anyway, is someone able to list the versions of the libraries they have used successfully? Im running Redhat 9.0, Nagios 1.1 Any help with this would be hugely appreciated. So I then ran make clean and re-ran configure without the '--with-gd-lib' and '--with-gd-inc' options and this compiled just fine as well. So it appears as though I did not need them, but YMMV so it probably wouldn't hurt to use them. I did install new JPEG libs, although I attempted an rpm update on the zlibs and this did not install as it was the same version. I'm not sure what you mean by the last question. If I'm interpreting it correctly, then the answer is no, the gd and zlib files are not in the same directory. Don't be confused. If you haven't already tried what I mentioned earlier (make clean, configure, recompile), then try that now. If it still does not work, scroll up through the configure output until you see the point where it fails. There are notes there outlining the steps to take when encountering such a failure, such as running ldconfig to update the link db. You may need to do this as well. HTH. Garry W. Once you've downloaded and installed all of the required libraries, be sure to run a 'make clean' to remove leftover files from your previous compile. Then run 'configure' and recompile Nagios.
