little question about disable notification and schedule downtime

Hi all

 

Reading for the first time the docs it seems that these 2 options do the
same thing. Is it ?

 

Is the only difference that the first one disable the notification forever,
while the other only in a particular timeperiod ?

 

Both do not stop the service checks.
