Defining command and service manually in Nagios XI

Hi,

          I am thinking to define a new command and new service in
Nagios XI, I have manually edited the configuration file in
/usr/local/etc/nagios.cfg  but *its not showing any that command and service
in the run Monitoring Wizard*

*Please help me out in this issue.*
