check_nrpe is just a way of running a plugin remotely.  If the remote
plugin only returns performance data as a %, then that is what you
will get.

Simple answer is choose a different plugin which returns the
performance data in the form you want or try running the plugin with
the "--help" option to see if if you can specify another format.

It would help to know a little more about what your check does.  Most
importantly what is the check command in your Nagios config?
