About host check retry interval for nagios v 3.x

Hello all.

I would like to ask a question regarding to "Host Definition" in Nagios official document of 3.x.

In the "Object Definitions -> Host Definition", the host retry interval is set as "#".
What would be the interval lentgh that Nagios is actually performed with this value?
Would it be the default time unit , 60 sec?
