Could NRPE be in some ways related to nss_ldap

Dear all,

I have a remote server monitored using NRPE. Recently what I found was when my LDAP server went off, I was given a "CHECK_NRPE: Socket timeout
after 10 seconds." . This could have been the cause had nsswitch.conf in the box with NRPE installed has hosts queried via LDAP as well. But
that isn't the case. Can there be any other reason? Any one ever came across this situation.

Regards
