Newly created hosts are not showing neither in Service Detail view nor Service Overview

Nagios is not location aware. Accesses from the network where nagios  
exists and the VPN are all the same to it. You may have done something  
to your web server to treat those differently but it's nothing nagios  
is doing.

If I guess at what the changes you reference might be, the only case  
is if you have multiple nagios daemons running at the same time.  
That's a case I mentioned in my original reply to you so I assume you  
checked it. This would potentially cause hosts and services to  
intermittently disappear from the web interface or their status to  
possibly change for unknown reasons. This would be due to contention  
over the status.dat file that both are writing to.
