Sending command to nagios using send_nsca

I've done this quite a few time for sending status message for services to nagios.
But I would like to know if I can use send_nsca to put a service under scheduled downtime ?
 
I put a service in scheduled downtime using the web gui and check nagios.log
It looked like that.
SCHEDULE_SVC_DOWNTIME;devlin01;efiwas10;1212003116;1212003716;1;0;7200;infpla;Copie de graduation
 
So I tried to send something like this to nagios but I can`t really make it work.
 
echo "hostname;service_name;1212071869;1212071929;1;0;7200;nagios_user;Copie de graduation" | send_nsca -H nagios_host -c send_nsca.cfg -d ";"
 
Do anyone ever been sucessful at this, is it even possible ?
