Check_host_alive over NRPE

Hello to all,
do you have any experience of check host alive via NRPE?

I need to check about ten host behind two firewall and i can't use the
check_host_alive directly from my central nagios with NRPE?. 

How can i configure the nrpe to execute Check host alive via NRPE?
My idea it's:

- - Create a chek_host_alive_remote with the follow command
./check_nrpe -H <NRPE_SERVER_IP> -c check_host_alive -a $HOSTADDRESS$

- - Define a host wit the follow check command:

define host{
        use             generic-host
        host_name       REMOTEHOST
        alias           REMOTEHOST
        address         aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd
	check_command	chek_host_alive_remote
}



It's correct?
