Suggestions on Nagios-friendly performance monitoring devices?

I suggest using PNP (pnp4nagios.sf.net), with it you can do snmp
checks and get trending graphs from the data as a side effect using
perfdata output.

I have been migrating all of my custom Cacti trending scripts to
Nagios checks that output graph data for PNP, makes configuration a
lot easier and reduces polling traffic to devices :).

I really like Cacti, but I also really like killing two birds with one stone.
