check_freshness detecting staled services in alphabetical order

Hey,

Have any of you have seen anything like this before?

Nagios 2.9, ndoutils 1.4b4.

Nagios began to detect staled services in alphabethical order, in batches of
almost 400 hosts at a time.

check_service_freshness=1
service_freshness_check_interval=900
check_host_freshness=0
host_freshness_check_interval=900
