check host_name or IP

99% of the time I can check and IP but sometimes I need to check the
host_name.
I tried:
command_line    $USER1$/check_http --hostname=$HOST_NAME$ -u$ARG1$ -r$ARG2
$
instead of:
command_line    $USER1$/check_http --hostname=$HOSTADDRESS$ -u$ARG1$ -r$AR
G2$
but it didn't work.
