Fwd: help needed

Hi Mark,
   
  First of all, thanks for the reply. Ok fact is , I had written a detailed mail on the scenario but believe it or not , it was getting refused continuously by the nagios forum. And the only option remained with me is to reduce the mail as much as I could, thinking that some of the words might not be appropriate ? for this forum. And yes again believe it or not , I could manage to send the below mail atlast. 
            That said , I am again giving a try to describe the problem and the steps I had taken so far. 
   
   Complete Error  Message --> ""It appears as though you do not have permission to view the configuration information you requested...
  If you believe this is an error, check the HTTP server authentication requirements for accessing this CGI and check the authorization options in your CGI configuration file.""
   
  Now I allowed as much of the options (related to External Command Execution) in nagios.cfg
  To name few ,
   
  check_external_commands=1
  log_external_commands=1
   
  In cgi.cfg
   
  nagios_check_command=/usr/local/NAGIOS/libexec/check_nagios /usr/local/NAGIOS/var/status.dat 5 '/usr/local/NAGIOS//bin/nagios'
   
   
  Now I'm not sure if there is any other option that  I have missed out as I have just started working on NAGIOS.
  I could configure it till Graphical access but it just that View Config is not working for me.
   
  Other information of our setup is,
   
  OS - RedHat Linux EL 4.0
  Nagios Version 2.9
