make all

I am new so thanks for all your help in advance!
 
I am working on installing nagios on a suse box. all was going well to I got to step four (on the quick start guide), when I type in the make all command after the ./configure command I get the following error.
 
bash: make: command not found
 
Its probably something very simple I am missing so sorry but thanks!!!!
