User Cannot View Hosts

Not weak at all, I think that points towards the issue. At some point I changed the ‘*’ to a couple of usernames. Changing it back for Authorized For All Hosts allows this new user to view all hosts. This is close to what I want, but not exactly. I just want them to be able to see the hosts that they are listed as a contact for.

Thanks,
Garry

I've setup some new servers in Nagios, and assigned them to a new user listed in contacts.cfg and in an .htpasswd file for cgi access.

Running the configuration verification check shows no warning and no errors. When logged in to the GUI as this user I can view all of the services, run commands to check them, etc., but cannot view or send host related commands.

Anyone know what I'm missing?
Can you confirm your:

grep  ^authorized_for_all_host  /etc/nagios/cgi.cfg ?

This should produce two lines of output something like:
==
authorized_for_all_hosts=*
authorized_for_all_host_commands=*
==
or:
==
authorized_for_all_hosts=nagios,allanc
authorized_for_all_host_commands=nagios,allanc
==

(where you have a bunch of usernames rather than my "allanc" in that line)

It's a bit of a weak response, sorry, I bet others here will have better ideas.
