What exactly do you mean?

Do you want to say that if I add

allowed_hosts=ip.of.nagios.server    # <comment>

to my nrpe.conf this line is not parsed an treated as if the whole line
was a comment?

This is the case in postfix configuration (and it is documented
there...)
