distributed checks with NT client?

Is there a way to do (I think it's called) passive checks with an NT server?

I have a centralized Nagios server racked off site, and I would like
to send a request to certain NT boxes and have NSClient++ (or
whatever) ping certain devices on the network.

I'm hoping that this is possible on NT, as I don't want to have to
build several more Nagios boxes just to have the distributed checking
that I need.
