Well, it may work in this trigger downtime situation, but the availibilty 
checks will not always work because the Dom0 is not always the network 
parent of the DomUs. And using this kind of „hack” I will be unable to 
use the switches as network parent.

True ;-). Do you know if the next Nagios release will distinguish between 
network parent and VM parent?
