Version 3.0 is experimental. If you do not know how to do something this 
simple my advise is:

  1. Use a stable version of Nagios (That would be 2.9 at this time)

  2. Read the nagios manual from cover to cover at least once.

Unless you do this reading there is no point in answering your 
too-generic question. After going over the manual you should be able to be 
more specific in your questions. (If there remains a question at all.)
