That is a completely invalid command. How do you expect to run a config
file? Use `nagios -v nagios.cfg` as instructed previously by Frederick
and documented in the manual:
http://nagios.sourceforge.net/docs/2_0/verifyconfig.html

If you did just read a REAMDME file you may take some time and go over
the full manual (http://nagios.sourceforge.net/docs/) as it contains
quite a bit of usefull information.
